Katsina State government said it would spend the sum of N15 billion to construct additional secondary schools across the state.

The state commissioner for education, Prof Badamasi Charanchi disclosed this when he led the World Bank team of Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) project to the Government House Katsina on a courtesy call yesterday.

Chanranchi said the new school project would cover all junior and senior secondary schools under the AGILE project at the cost of N15 billion. He appreciated the World Bank for the support to 158 secondary schools with N24 million each to develop their respective schools.

He added that the AGILE project has also helped in building the capacity of 500 teachers and provided financial support to over 16,000 students of junior and senior secondary schools under Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT).
