The Coalition of Kwara APC Young Stakeholders (C-KAYS) has called for dialogue and reconciliation among members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State over issues arising from the party’s recent governorship primaries, urging aggrieved stakeholders to embrace internal mechanisms for resolving disputes.

The group said unity within the party remains critical to sustaining the gains recorded under the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and preserving the state’s prosperity agenda beyond the current tenure.

Addressing journalists in Ilorin on Friday, the coalition also declared support for Engr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu as its preferred candidate for the 2027 governorship election, describing him as a leader capable of consolidating the achievements of the present administration.

The coalition reaffirmed its backing for Governor AbdulRazaq’s development agenda, which it described as transformational, citing infrastructure renewal, prudent management of resources and inclusive governance among the achievements of the administration.

Coordinator of the group, Mallam Abiola Nasir, said Danladi-Salihu possesses the qualities required to provide continuity in governance while expanding opportunities for young people and women.

“Danladi-Salihu possesses the character, competence, capacity, and grassroots connections required to consolidate Governor AbdulRazaq’s achievements and advance his Prosperity Agenda to even greater heights,” Nasir said.

He disclosed that the coalition’s choice of Danladi-Salihu was informed by what he described as the need to sustain the current administration’s developmental trajectory in the state.

According to him, Governor AbdulRazaq inherited a state grappling with weak institutions, poor infrastructure, inadequate healthcare, declining educational standards, youth unemployment and a struggling economy when he assumed office in 2019.

Nasir appealed to aggrieved APC members and aspirants to embrace dialogue and party mechanisms in resolving disagreements rather than actions capable of undermining the party’s cohesion.

He stressed that unity remained critical to sustaining the gains recorded under the AbdulRazaq administration and preserving the prosperity agenda beyond the current tenure.

The coalition also called for broader participation of youths and women in governance, urging party leaders to promote policies that encourage leadership development, entrepreneurship, equitable representation and greater inclusion in public appointments.

According to Nasir, investing in young people and women is essential to securing the long-term prosperity, stability and development of Kwara State.

He also expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as his commitment to democratic governance and national development, saying the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda complements the developmental strides being witnessed in Kwara State.

Nasir therefore urged APC leaders to deepen reconciliation efforts through continuous consultations and stakeholder engagement, insisting that a united party remains better positioned to consolidate development and deliver lasting dividends of democracy to the people of the state.
