The new police commissioner in Benue State, Cletus Nwadiogbu, has said he would not allow criminals any space to operate in the state.
Briefing journalists in Makurdi yesterday, the commissioner said his men had arrested 10 suspects over various crimes, rescued eight victims and neutralised three suspected bandits.
Nwadiogbu also stated that 17 firearms and 36 ammunitions were recovered among other items.
He urged residents to remain vigilant, cooperate with security agencies and promptly provide credible information that caould help prevent crime and protect lives.
He said, “As you know, effective policing thrives on transparency, partnership, and timely information. It is in this spirit that we have invited you here to share some of our recent breakthroughs, particularly in the fight against armed robbery, kidnapping, cultism, gender-based violence, trafficking and other related crimes.
While we remain firm in pursuing offenders and bringing them before the law, we also recognise that security is a shared responsibility.”
