Ex-IPAC Chair Ameh Celebrates Peter Obi At 65

A former national chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Peter Ojonugwa Ameh, has described the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidentisal candidate for the 2027 election, Mr Peter Obi, as “a great, exceptional, and truly incorruptible leader” whose life exemplifies honesty and principled service in a challenging environment.”

In a tribute he released yesterday as Obi marked his 65th birthday,  Ameh said the former governor of Anambra State and prominent opposition leader, is a “rare beacon of integrity, discipline and hope in the nation’s political landscape.”

Ameh said, “In a country where staying clean amid the murky waters of public and private life is extraordinarily difficult, you have consistently chosen the path of discipline, honesty and unwavering principle.

“You have refused to be tainted by corruption, proving that it is possible to serve with clean hands and a clear conscience,” he said.

Ameh highlighted Obi’s well-known commitment to financial discipline, prudent governance and the fight against wasteful spending.

According to him, Obi’s leadership style continues to inspire millions of Nigerians, particularly the youth, with the message that a better Nigeria is achievable when leaders place service, accountability, and national interest above personal gain.

The message further noted that Obi embodies the belief that character, competence, and integrity remain essential ingredients for national transformation.

“As you mark this milestone, we draw fresh hope from the example you represent. You embody the belief that character still matters, that competence and integrity can transform our society, and that one man’s dedication can ignite the dreams of an entire generation,” the tribute stated.

Ameh prayed for Obi’s continued good health and impactful service to the nation, describing him as “not just a leader, but a symbol of hope.”

Peter Obi, who is the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, presidential candidate in the 2027 general election, has built a significant following for his advocacy of good governance, economic restructuring, and youth empowerment.
