Nigeria’s gas processing plants produced 2.228 million barrels of condensates in June 2026, the highest monthly output so far this year, according to the latest statistics released by the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA).

The figure represents a steady climb from 1.485 million barrels recorded in January, marking a sustained five-month rise in output.

Data contained in the Authority’s Midstream and Downstream Statistics report for June 2026 showed production rose from 1.472 million barrels in February to 1.631 million barrels in March, then to 1.725 million barrels in April and 1.935 million barrels in May, before hitting the year’s peak in June.

The NMDPRA said the condensates’ volumes represented the combined output from gas processing plants operated by NLNG, Chevron, Greenville, First Otakikpo, Ashtavinayak, PNG, Odum Energy, NEDO, NEPL/Panocean, Seplat Midstream, and Anoh Gas. The Authority noted that while some of the condensates were exported as standalone streams, others were transported to crude oil terminals where they were comingled or blended and exported as crude.

The report also provided an update on major gas pipeline projects across the country, showing significant progress on several fronts.

The Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline Project has reached a 94.3 per cent completion rate, the Authority disclosed.

For projects delivered through the Nigerian Gas Infrastructure Company (NGIC) via the Escravos-Lagos Pipeline System (ELPS), the OB3 pipeline project is now 96 per cent complete overall, while the OB3 River Niger Crossing component has been fully completed at 100 per cent.

Other ELPS-linked projects show mixed progress: the ELPS Midline Compressor Project stands at 95.41 per cent completion, the Odidi-Warri Expansion Project (OWEP) is at 74.58 per cent, while the Escravos-Odidi Pipeline (EOP) trails at 23.69 per cent completion. All five projects were reported to be trending upward as of June 2026, according to NGIC data cited by the Authority.

The NMDPRA described the figures as evidence of Nigeria’s ongoing transformation of its energy infrastructure, pointing to reduced import dependence, strengthened domestic production capacity and improved safety standards across the midstream and downstream petroleum sector.
