Super Eagles winger Moses Usor has identified fellow international Moses Simon as the Nigerian player he wants to emulate in his career.
Usor made his Nigeria debut in Friday’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Madagascar in Uyo, marking the occasion with the winning goal in the Super Eagles’ 2-1 victory.
The LASK forward said Simon’s consistency, humility and commitment to the national team over the years have made him a player he admires.
Speaking to Footy-Africa, Usor said: “I want to be like Moses Simon — his consistency, his humility, his commitment to the team over so many seasons.
“It’s special to share the name Moses and go through this night with him. Getting to 100 caps for Nigeria is a massive achievement.”
Simon reached 100 international appearances for Nigeria in the Super Eagles’ recent AFCON qualifying campaign, earning recognition for his longevity with the national team.
Usor will now hope to make another appearance when Nigeria take on Guinea-Bissau in their next Group L qualifier in Bissau on Tuesday.
