Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Brig. Gen. Mohamed Marwa (rtd), has reaffirmed his commitment to improving the welfare of personnel and their families, particularly through investments in education and other support initiatives.
Marwa gave the assurance on Friday during a working visit to the newly established NDLEA Command School at the agency’s barracks in Yola, Adamawa State, where he inspected the facilities and interacted with pupils, students and teachers.
Addressing the pupils, the NDLEA chairman urged them to embrace discipline, punctuality and academic excellence, describing these values as essential to achieving their ambitions and building a successful future.
He advised the students to take their studies seriously, read diligently, attend school punctually and work hard to excel in their examinations.
Marwa also urged them to worship God, respect their parents and teachers, and shun illicit drugs, warning that staying away from substance abuse must remain a priority in their lives.
He assured the school community that the agency would continue to invest in the development of the institution to ensure that it provides quality education and grows into one of the leading schools in the country.
According to him, the establishment of the pioneer command school was part of the agency’s commitment to providing children of its personnel with access to quality education within their immediate community.
Marwa thanked the NDLEA officers wives for their support and assured them that the welfare of personnel and their families would remain a priority.
He further disclosed that plans were at an advanced stage for the formal inauguration of the NDLEA Officers’ Wives Association to provide a structured platform for officers’ wives to organise, collaborate and contribute to the welfare of the agency’s families.

The NDLEA chairman was accompanied on the visit by the Zone 2 Commander, ACGN Ishaku Yusuf Kwajafa, and other senior officers.
The establishment of the Yola command school represents an extension of the agency’s welfare initiatives beyond its core drug enforcement responsibilities, with emphasis on supporting personnel through improved access to education and family-oriented programmes.
The visit also provided an opportunity for Marwa to interact with members of the NDLEA Officers’ Wives Association and other families residing in the barracks.
The women commended him for establishing the school, describing it as a significant investment in the future of officers’ children.
They also expressed appreciation for his leadership and the transformation recorded in the agency under his administration.
