The Kano State House of Assembly has screened and confirmed the appointments of former governor’s spokesman, Sanusi Ahmad Bature, and former Speaker of the Assembly, Balarabe Sa’idu Gani, as commissioners.
Bature, who spent more than 30 minutes answering questions from lawmakers during the screening, said he would prioritise reviving the state-owned Triumph newspaper and other government-owned media organisations.
He also pledged to support privately owned media organisations to ensure their sustainability and continued contribution to the state’s development.
Similarly, Gani, who served as Speaker of the Kano Assembly during the administration of former Governor Ibrahim Shekarau, was screened and confirmed by the lawmakers.
Speaking after the exercise, Gani expressed appreciation for the opportunity to serve and pledged to support the state government in implementing development projects and delivering democratic dividends to the people of Kano.
