Police Nab 7 ‘Yan Sara-Suka’ For Terrorising Bauchi Residents

Seven suspected thugs were arrested by operatives of the Bauchi State Police Command for terrorising the town of Bauchi.

In a press release issued by the command’s public relations officer (PPRO), SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil yesterday, the command said police investigations revealed that the suspects arrested belong to a notorious thuggery group called “Sara-Suka” known for terrorising the city of Bauchi.

He said the development follows the directives of the commissioner of police to the area commanders, DPOs and tactical teams to raid criminal hideouts and ensure maximum security and serenity of the Easter celebration.

According to him, “On April 8, 2023 at about 0930hrs, operatives attached to C’ Divisional Police Headquarters Bauchi in collaboration with a quasi-security outfit acted on a credible intelligence raided a criminal hideout in an uncompleted building situated at Magaji Quarters Bauchi.”

The arrested suspects are: Rayyanu Mohammed ‘male’ aged 25 years; Mustapha Harisu ‘male’ aged 19 years; Yusuf Ibrahim ‘male’ aged 18 years; Mubarak Lawal ‘male’ aged 18 years; Abubakar Musa ‘male’ aged 18 years; Al-Amin Hussaini ‘male’ aged 20 years; as well as Hamza Umar ‘male’ aged 17years all of Magaji quarters Bauchi.

According to the statement the following assorted arms and some alcoholic beverages were retrieved from their possession during the raids which include two axes; three knives; 10 empty bottles of cough syrup; two empty rubber solution and one wrap of cannabis sativa.

He added that investigation is in progress after which the suspects will be charged to court for prosecution.

Wakil said the commissioner of police CP Aminu Alhassan called on parents and guardians to get acquainted with the activities of their children.
