It was pomp and pageantry as friends, associates, golfers and many other  lovers of the lady captain of IBB International golf and Country Club Abuja, Joy Ikwue, played during the weekend in her own tournament, Lady Captain Cup, climaxing her tenure as captain of the Lady section of the prestigious golf club.

Wife of the former president of Senate, Helen David Mark, showered encomiums on outgoing Lady Captain Ikwue, saying she has done well.

She urged her not to turn her back on the club. “I want to first congratulate her because she has done well. Her tenure was eventful and I urge to continue the good work rather than thinking that since she has rounded up as Lady Captain, it is over. It is just the beginning and she has to give a helping hand to whoever succeeds her as next lady captain.

“It has been a very pleasurable one year and the incoming lady captain should continue from where joy leaves it off,” Mark said.
