The incident occurred early Friday morning at Hajiya’s home in Kahutu Village, located in the Danja local government area of Katsina State.

A source close to the family in Kahutu revealed that the abductors initially demanded N1 billion but later reduced the amount to N900 million after brief negotiations.

“They called the family using a phone they had taken from a woman during the abduction,” the source disclosed. “They initially demanded N1 billion but agreed to lower it to N900 million after a brief discussion with a family member. They preferred to negotiate with Rarara himself, but he was unwell following the abduction of his mother. They confirmed that Hajiya is in good condition and would be released once the ransom is paid.”

The source further described the abduction as a well-coordinated operation. “The bandits came with a photograph of Hajiya to ensure they picked the right person. They entered her bedroom, woke up all the women sleeping there, and compared their faces with the photograph. After identifying her, they demanded money. She showed them the money in her bedside drawer, but it was insufficient. They then decided to take her with them, and she complied without hesitation.”

Meanwhile, the Katsina State Police Command has announced the arrest of two suspects in connection with the abduction.
