AbdulRazaq Inspects New Kwara High Court Complex, Hails Quality Of Work

Kwara State governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on Wednesday inspected the under-construction Justice Saidu Kawu Court House in Ilorin, expressing satisfaction with the quality and pace of work on the multistorey judicial complex, which he said will provide a more conducive working environment for judges and other judicial officers.

The governor, who toured the project with the Chief Judge of Kwara State, Justice Abiodun Adebara, said the new court complex underscores his administration’s commitment to strengthening the judiciary through improved infrastructure.

“The work is going on very well. This is the major building of the Court House. We are trying to give the judiciary a better working environment,” AbdulRazaq told journalists after the inspection.

He said the project is aimed at ensuring that judicial officers no longer work in substandard facilities, adding that the state is setting a benchmark for modern judicial infrastructure.

“We have seen what His Excellency Nyesom Wike has done for the judiciary and we are trying to give another great edifice and masterpiece architecture that offers a very conducive environment for the judiciary. So, all we are doing is to make sure the standards are improved.

“The judges shouldn’t be doing their work in sub-standard offices and infrastructure. So, we are also setting a standard that can be emulated in other parts of the country,” the governor said.

Also speaking, the Chief Judge of Kwara State, Justice Abiodun Adebara, commended AbdulRazaq for his sustained investment in the welfare of the judiciary, describing the new court complex as a major intervention that would improve the administration of justice in the state.

“I am highly impressed and elated with what I have seen this afternoon. So, I want to, on behalf of the judiciary of Kwara State, appreciate His Excellency, the Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for the wonderful job he is doing for the judiciary.

“Not only this one, he is doing so many other things for the judiciary. But, with regard to this, it will greatly ease our jobs.

“We can see that our courts are just scattered all over in Ilorin and when this project is finally completed, we will have a compact headquarters in Ilorin. Other courts will be able to accommodate more judges and administration of justice will move on smoothly in the state. So, Your Excellency, we thank you sir,” Adebara said.
