Abia State government has confirmed the death of the commissioner for labour and productivity, Sunny Nwanganga Onwuka, aged 61.
The commissioner for information, Okey Kanu indicated this yesterday in a statement in Umuahia, the state capital.
The statement said Onwuka, who is survived by a wife and four children, died in the early hours of Monday, during a brief illness.
“The government,” it further said “extends its deepest condolences to his family, friends, and the people of the state. We fervently pray that God Almighty grants his soul eternal rest and gives his family the strength to bear this irreparable loss.”
According to the statement, burial arrangements for the late Labour Party chieftain will be announced by the family in due course.
Late Onwuka hailed from Ihie in Ugwunagbo local government area of the state and attended both Government College, Umuahia and the State University, Uturu.
