The Allied Conservative Congress (ACC) has expressed the need for patriotism in the country, saying the need for patriotism cannot be overemphasized in this trying period of our nationhood.

In a statement issued by the national chairman, Rev Olusegun Peters, to felicitate with Nigerians on the occasion of the celebration of Christmas, he enjoined Nigerians to set aside their differences and join hands with ACC in building a better, stronger and prosperous democratic nation that future generations will be proud of.
Similarly, the former Vice President and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, Atiku Abubakar, implored Nigerians to embrace a life of love and unity, drawing inspiration from the joyous spirit of the Christmas season.

In his Christmas message, Atiku implored Nigerians to embrace a life of love and unity, drawing inspiration from the joyous spirit of the Christmas season.

The ACC national chairman, Peters, said “ACC will alleviate the sufferings of the populace by providing the fruits of democracy that will revamp the economy and usher in prosperity and sustainable development.

“This is in tandem with Section 14(2)b of the 1999 Constitution as amended, which states that, ‘the security and welfare of the people shall be the primary purpose of government.’ Nigerians desire and deserve a good deal from their governments,” he said.

He called for a conservative ideology, which the Allied Conservative Congress champions.

“We commend millions of Nigerians for embracing the ACC conservative ideology. It is the panacea to multifarious political, economic and social challenges citizens face.

“As more Nigerians embrace the conservative ideology of integrity, morality, patriotism etc, in place of personal aggrandizement that breeds corruption, violence and bad governance, Nigeria will regain its lost glory,” he added.

In his message, Atiku urged citizens to be guided by compassion and selflessness, encouraging them to cherish the significance of Christmas as a time for reflection and togetherness.

Atiku reminded Nigerians, particularly Christians, to express gratitude for the arrival of the Christmas season despite the many challenges and hardships confronting the nation.

“It is a blessing that we can once again celebrate the events leading to the birth of Christ, despite the adversity we face,” he stated.

The Waziri Adamawa, however, did not shy away from pointing out the failure of current political leaders to make the necessary sacrifices for the nation’s collective good. He condemned the lack of leadership, which has resulted in widespread suffering and preventable deaths across the country.

Yet, despite these grave challenges, Atiku appealed to Nigerians to remain united, to embrace one another with love, and to confront the root cause of their struggles — poor leadership.

“With love and unity, there is no obstacle too great to overcome. Let us, therefore, come together to share love and joy with all people of goodwill,” he declared.

Atiku concluded his message by wishing all Nigerians a blessed Christmas, filled with peace, happiness, and hope for the future.
