The Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC) has commenced the screening of chairmanship candidates for the forthcoming local government elections across the state’s 21 local government areas.

The screening exercise officially began with candidates from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the Social Democratic Party (SDP), marking the start of a comprehensive process that will involve all registered political parties participating in the elections.

Speaking during the exercise, the Chairman of ADSIEC, Alhaji Muhammed Umar, reassured political parties, candidates, and other stakeholders of the Commission’s commitment to transparency, fairness, and strict adherence to the law.

Umar disclosed that all necessary preparations had been completed ahead of the screening, including verifying candidates’ documents and making adequate security arrangements to ensure a smooth, orderly process.
