The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State yesterday said the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, has intervened in the crisis of confidence rocking the party in the state.

The party therefore said it has formed an eight-man committee to reconcile members and strengthen the party’s unity in Adamawa State.

The APC national vice chairman (North East), Mustapha Salihu, disclosed this during a unity meeting of the party in Yola, the state capital, a statement by the party said yesterday.

Recall that some Adamawa APC stakeholders had over the weekend called on President Bola Tinubu and the party’s national chairman, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, to save the party from further decline after suffering defeats in two governorship elections.

However, Salihu, in the statement signed by the state publicity secretary, Mohammed Abdullahi, formally announced the formation of the reconciliation committee, with Senator Muhammed Mana as chairman.

Members of the committee include Senators Bello Tukur, Abubakar Girei, Binta Masi Garba, and Engr. Martins Babale.

The other members are Hon. Yusuf Buba Yakubu and Dr. Bridget Zidon, with Barr. Isa Baba as secretary.

Mustapha Salihu, according to the statement from the Adamawa secretariat of the party, told the Yola unity meeting that the high-powered committee was tasked to reconcile party members and ensure cohesion in the party.

He added that the committee has already commenced consultations in Abuja and will soon come down to Adamawa State for the reconciliation exercise.

At the unity meeting in Yola were the national vice chairman North East, all members of the State Executive, local government party chairmen and the eight APC members of the Adamawa State House of Assembly.

“The purpose of the meeting is to further solidify on an earlier meeting held in Abuja with the NSA (MAL. NUHU RIBADU) who is the leader of the party that emphasized on genuine reconciliation and unity in the party,” the APC explained.

It said the state executives, local government party chairmen and members of the state House of Assembly thanked the party leader, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu (NSA) and commended the national vice chairman of the North East for convening the meeting and the giant strides he has taken to unify and reposition the party.
