The governorship candidate of the Accord Party in Oyo State, Chief Bayo Adelabu, has said he will not return to the All Progressives Congress (APC), saying his new party is in the race to win.

Chief Adelabu popularly called Penkelemes who was APC governorship candidate in 2019 but lost the current governorship ticket to Senator Teslim Folarin called for the resignation of incumbent governor of Oyo State, Mr. Seyi Makinde from the office.

Adelabu who stated this in an interview at the weekend said, “Accord is in the election to win overwhelmingly. Accord has been voting since 2011. It is a grassroots party. Accord already with its own structure across the state, is now at merger with about 70 per cent of the APC.

“Accord can merge with APC or PDP if they are ready to support my candidature as Accord guber candidate along with our other candidates.’’

He added that any government that admits failure like Seyi Makinde’s administration should resign, especially when it concerns insecurity, environmental sanitation, education and infrastructural development.
