Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has kicked off the dualisation of 6.2 kilometre Ereja Square-Imo-Ilesa/Akure Expressway in Ilesa, Osun State.
He said the project that would be in two sections will gulp N16,570,862,248.07 and be handled by Horizon Nigeria limited for the first section while the second section will be handled by Showie-tee Global Services Limited.
The governor, who disclosed that the project will be concluded within one year, appealed to residents, especially those around the construction area to fully collaborate and support the construction companies involved.
He said those whose houses are marked for demolition as a result of the construction will be duly compensated and also charged the companies involved not to neglect community relations.
While tasking the construction companies on quality jobs, he called on the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure to enforce the best standard in project management as well as monitoring and evaluation.
His words, “We are all aware of our government multi-billion naira infrastructure plan for Osun state. When we announced the ambitious agenda last December, we were constrained by low funding, so we then decided to implement the infra plan in phases.
“We divided the various projects in the agenda into segments for funding as financing capacity increases. We started phase one for completion latest by December while we are launching a new phase to be completed in the next 12 months,” Adeleke posited.
