The national vice chairman, Northwest Zone of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Mallam Jafaru Sani, has extended his greetings and heartfelt wishes to all Nigerians, both at home and in the diaspora, on New Year’s Day.
In a New Year message yesterday, Sani recognised the leaders of the emerging coalition for national salvation, especially Atiku Abubakar, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, Mr Peter Obi, Senator David Mark and Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi.
He said their courage and commitment to unity, justice and good governance are deeply appreciated.
According to him, “The ADC firmly believes that Nigeria stands at a historic crossroads. The time has come for a new direction, one that reflects the genuine will of the people. We envision a government built not on the interests of a few, but on the collective aspirations of all Nigerians.
“A government where every citizen, regardless of tribe, faith, or status, can live with dignity, security, and opportunity.
“We recognise the pain and disillusionment that many Nigerians feel today. The missteps and mismanagement of the ruling APC at both federal and state levels have left our economy strained, our institutions weakened, and our people yearning for change. But we say to you, do not lose hope.
“The ADC which is a growing coalition of visionary leaders, is committed to offering a credible alternative. We are building a formidable opposition, one that is rooted in integrity, inclusiveness, and innovation,” he said.
Sani prayed for peace, progress and purposeful leadership for Nigeria.
He acknowledged the resilience of the citizens who, despite the challenges of the past year, continued to demonstrate unwavering faith in the promise of a better tomorrow.
He said it is their strength that the foundation of a new Nigeria would be built.
He said these statesmen and women have chosen to rise above partisan lines in the interest of the country’s future.
