According to FAAN’s director, Public Affairs & Consumer Protection, Abdullahi Yakubu-Funtua, the relocation was due to the fire incident at the terminal on Wednesday.

LEADERSHIP reports that the minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, during  his maiden visit to Lagos airport directed FAAN to relocate foreign airlines to the newly built International Terminal in order to shutdown the old terminal by October 1 for renovation.

The statement read, “the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has redirected processing of passengers through the New International Terminal, effective immediately.
