An innovative capacity building and job creation platform, “Agrolearn” has launched its e-learning platform, to further ensure that more people access quality education which is a major gap in the African agricultural sector.

The launch event, themed “Cultivating Prosperity: Setting the Pace for Food Security and Continuous Growth in the Agricultural Sector,” brought together industry experts, government representatives, and stakeholders committed to driving sustainable development in agriculture.

The founder of Agrolearn, Ms Tolulope Aina said Agrolearn’s transformative platform marks a significant milestone in addressing the critical challenges faced by the agricultural sector.

She emphasised the platform’s mission to change the narrative of agricultural practice and increase food security across Nigeria.

“There is a need for more access to accurate and timely information as a significant impediment to progress. Agrolearn aims to bridge this gap by providing quality courses created by global experts, enabling agriprenuers and farmers to thrive”, Aina said.

A renowned keynote speaker, Dr Debisi Araba, a public policy, innovation, and strategy specialist noted said there is enormous potential in Agriculture.

“We need to focus on the future of food, the environment, and entrepreneurship. Agrolearn has been contributing to boost agricultural development in the country”, he said.

The country director at Winrock International (Nigeria), Dr Mike Bassey, said leveraging technology and innovation is critical for agricultural development.

“With my extensive experience in microfinance training and finance management, innovation is necessary in the agriculture sector.

“I have successfully managed farmer-to-farmer projects for USAID and innovation programmes for the Federal Republic of Nigeria”, he said.
