Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has sacked all his political aides in a move aimed at restructuring governance and enhancing service delivery across the state.
The Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Ebenezer Adeniyan, disclosed this in a statement on Monday.
The decision, which takes immediate effect, affects all Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) and Special Assistants (SAs) to the governor, effectively dissolving the existing political aides’ structure.
According to the statement, the governor appreciated the affected aides for their contributions to the development of Ondo State during their tenure in office.
He also wished them well in their future endeavours, noting that their services would remain part of the state’s progress story.
The statement reads in part “In the ongoing drive to enhance efficiency and deepen service delivery, Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has relieved all political aides of their duties with immediate effect.
”Those affected are Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants to the Governor.”
In a related development, the governor revealed plans to appoint about 1,000 new political aides in the coming weeks as part of a broader strategy to deepen grassroots governance.
The new appointments, the statement noted, will be drawn from across the 203 wards in the 18 Local Government Areas of the state.
