Senior special assistant to the Benue State governor on youth mobilisation and empowerment, Mkeenem Moses, has asked the federal legislators under the auspices of the National Assembly Caucus from Benue State to stop politicising the insecurity bedeviling the state.

This is even as he accused the caucus of diverting palliatives given to them by President Bola Tinubu to distribute to members of their constituencies to cushion the hardship in the country.

The governor’s aide who disclosed this during a press conference in Makurdi urged the president to be watchful when entrusting anything meant for Benue populace such as palliatives to the National Assembly members from Benue State.

Moses, who described those parading themselves on the national TV stations with derogatory and anti-people information at the detriment of the lives and future of Benue youths as persons with little or no single projects in their various constituencies, said Benue people are more enlightened now to know who are their real enemies.

He said, “Benue people are well informed now to know their enemies, especially their representatives at the National Assembly who have not hidden their agenda, so, I want to urge you all,  that on no account should you allow any of your representatives, some with  little or no single projects in their various constituencies to parade themselves on national televisions with derogatory and anti-people information at the detriment of the lives and future of Benue youths.”

He said such “nefarious behaviour has not portrayed the interest and image of the common Benue person but their personal political interests. Evil, because anything self remains evil.

“We the Benue youths highly condemn the action of the federal legislators under the auspices of the National Assembly Caucus from Benue State for politicizing the unfortunate insecurity bedeviling Benue State which Governor Alia is having sleepless night to quell.”

He said more worrisome is that government reliably gathered that some persons suspected to be from the National Assembly wrote a letter and dropped for herders at the borders that the Anti-Open Grazing Law has been relaxed now for them to come and occupy the state, saying that is very unpatriotic and unexpected of people who are indigenes of Benue State.
