The association’s president, Engr. Muideen Aruna, while congratulating the monarch on his ascension to the throne of his forefathers, also called for unity and support for the new king.

LEADERSHIP recalls that Alaafin Owoade was on Saturday, April 5, 2025, officially presented to the public by the Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde at a well-attended coronation ceremony in Oyo.

According to Engr Aruna, Alaafin’s ascension marks a meritorious chapter in the annals of Yoruba history.

“Alaafin’s coronation marks a momentous chapter in the annals of Yoruba history, and we join millions across Oyo, Yorubaland, and the diaspora in celebrating this divine affirmation of his leadership.

“NOSA-AHSO as an institution bearing the identity of the sacred stool and deeply rooted in the cultural and educational legacy of the Oyo Kingdom, recognises the Alaafin’s sacred role as the custodian of Yoruba heritage, unity, and progress.

“Oba Owoade’s coronation symbolises not only continuity but also a renewed promise to uphold the dignity, wisdom, and visionary stewardship that the throne embodies.

“We call on the Oyomesi, the good people of Yorubaland and the indomitable sons and daughters of Oyo to rally behind His Imperial Majesty as he embarks on this noble journey,” he said.

Aruna noted that Alaafin’s reign presents an opportunity to strengthen the collective resolve towards advancing education, cultural preservation, and socioeconomic development across the Oyo communities.

The association further urged stakeholders, including traditional leaders, government, civil society, and citizens, to support Oba Owoade’s vision to engender peace, inclusivity, and innovation.

It acknowledged the challenges inherent in leading a kingdom as historically significant as Oyo, saying “We are confident that in view of his wisdom, integrity, and deep connection to our shared values, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Owoade will be guided in steering the ancient throne toward greater heights”.

The alumni association also pledged unwavering support and readiness to collaborate with the Oyo Palace on initiatives that empower youth, promote education, and preserve our cultural identity.

“The Alaafin is not just a king; he is the heartbeat of our heritage. Let us walk hand-in-hand with Oba Owoade to ensure his reign becomes a golden era for Oyo and Yorubaland,” the alumni association admonished.
