A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) chieftain, Dr. Dennis Osahon Aikoriogie, has said hosting the maiden edition of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) in Edo State underscores the state’s growing relevance in national political conversations.
Aikoriogie, however, hopes the gathering would inspire greater synergy among APC states and accelerate the delivery of good governance across Nigeria.
He stated this while commending the Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, for the successful hosting of the gathering in Benin City, the state capital.
He described the event as a clear testament to Governor Okpebholo’s leadership capacity, progressive ideals, and readiness to position Edo State as a major player in national discourse.
According to Aikoriogie, the successful organisation and hospitality displayed during the Forum reflects the governor’s commitment to excellence and the welcoming spirit of the Edo people.
“The Progressive Governors’ Forum in Benin is a bold step that aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
It fosters collaboration, policy alignment, and unity of purpose among APC governors,” he said.
Aikoriogie also commended the Forum’s visit to the palace of His Royal Majesty, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II, describing it as a culturally significant gesture that highlights the value of traditional institutions in governance.
“Once again, I congratulate Governor Okpebholo for making Edo proud,” he concluded.
