The Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Justice Forum has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to recognise and reward party members who played key roles in securing the party’s victory in the 2023 general elections.

In a statement issued to mark Democracy Day, the group said democracy is strengthened when sacrifices made by political actors at the grassroots level are acknowledged through tangible rewards and inclusion in governance.

It noted that several party members in Oyo State worked at ward and community levels to mobilise support that contributed significantly to the APC’s electoral success.

The forum argued that such contributions should be reflected in political appointments, empowerment programmes and federal government intervention initiatives.

According to the group, grassroots mobilisers remain the backbone of the party’s strength, stressing that sustained loyalty depends on recognition and inclusion in decision-making processes.

“Democracy thrives when sacrifice is remembered, and loyalty is rewarded,” the group said.

It further urged the President to ensure that stakeholders who supported the party’s victory in Oyo State are not sidelined in ongoing governance arrangements.

The Justice Forum maintained that rewarding loyal members is not patronage, but “justice” necessary to strengthen party cohesion ahead of future elections.

“Rewarding loyalty is not patronage. It is justice. It is the surest way to strengthen the APC in Oyo State ahead of 2027,” the group added.

It also used the occasion to felicitate with Nigerians on Democracy Day while reaffirming its support for the APC-led administration.
