The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ofu local government area of Kogi State has commenced early mobilisation for the 2027 general elections with a road walk in Ejule.

The party reaffirmed its support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and other candidates of the APC.

The colourful procession, which attracted party leaders, youths, women and others from across the council, also endorsed the APC candidates for the Kogi East Senatorial District, Idah Federal Constituency and the various state constituencies.

Those endorsed include the APC candidate for Kogi East Senatorial District, Chief Ameh Joseph Erico, the contestant for Idah Federal Constituency, Hon. Victor Uchola, the Ofu State Constituency candidate, Hon. Isah Umaru and the Igalogba State Constituency flag bearer, Rt. Hon. Idris Omojo Mariam.

The road walk was led by the director-general of Kogi State Community Watch and Ancillary Matters, Hon. Muhammed Nasiru Alfa, chairman of Ofu council, Hon. Mohammed Lawal Musa, divisional APC chairman in Ofu, Hon Salifu Wada; ward executives and other party stalwarts.

Participants, who moved through major streets in Ejule, chanted solidarity songs and displayed placards expressing confidence in the leadership of President Tinubu and Governor Ododo, while pledging their support for the party’s candidates ahead of the 2027 elections.

Speaking shortly after the procession, the chairman of Ofu local government area, Hon Mohammed Lawal Musa, said the mobilisation was organised to test the party’s strength and preparedness for the forthcoming elections.

He said the impressive turnout had demonstrated the capacity of the party to mobilise its members and supporters across the local government, assuring that Ofu was ready to deliver all APC candidates at the polls.

“We decided to test our capacity by organising this procession, and the turnout has shown that APC is fully on ground in Ofu.

“We are ready to deliver all our candidates come 2027. Our members are united and committed to ensuring victory for the party,” Musa said.

Also speaking, the Ofu Divisional APC chairman, Hon Salifu Wada, said the party had commenced preparations in earnest, assuring that no stone would be left unturned in its bid to secure victory in the 2027 elections.

Wada said the party was more united and better prepared than ever before, urging members to remain committed and work collectively towards achieving victory at the polls.

The massive turnout at the road walk further underscored the growing political activities of the APC in Ofu and the determination of its members to mobilise support for the party’s candidates.

The organisers described the exercise as a demonstration of unity, grassroots strength and readiness to work for the success of the APC in the 2027 general elections.
