The All Progressive Grand Alliance, (APGA) has unveiled Chief Great Ogboru as the party’s gubernatorial candidate just as he presented the party’s manifesto ‘Jubilee Agenda’.
At the event which took place in Asaba, Ogboru said it was time to rescue Delta State from the ruling PDP.
Ogboru, known as the people’s general, said the challenges must be a thing of the past, defining the Jubilee Agenda as a sustainable development plan in health, education, rural development, conducive environment.
While noting that something was wrong in the state, he said something must be done to rescue the situation urgently.
“We want equal opportunities for all LGAs for development. Now going forward, N2 million will be given monthly to every local government for development purposes. If there is development from the grassroots, there will be money in circulation for development.
“We have seen the plight of the youth. It is important development takes place simultaneously. There would no more mud houses in Delta, they will be destroyed and rebuilt under the rural development agenda,” Ogboru stated.
State party chairman, Elder Enemokwu Afamefune, said it was vital that all hands must be on deck to navigate all parts of the state to actualise the expectation of occupying the Government House in 2023.
“We therefore need cohesion, open mind and heart with all hands stretched out to welcome more people willing to join us genuinely, to move from minority to majority as that is the only way we can win the election. The observed level of acrimony us is capable of derailing us from our collective focus,” he stated.
In his acceptance speech, Prince Emmanuel Okotie-Eboh, Chairman, Jubilee Campaign Organization, promised to discharge the responsibility by working with all council members and party faithfuls to make sure all their candidates are voted for in the 2023 elections.
