The Chief of Army Standards and Evaluation, Major General Olumuyiwa Aiyenigba, has attributed the reduction in oil theft and environmental pollution in the Niger Delta to the operational successes recorded by the 6 Division, Nigerian Army in the year 2024.

Aiyenigba spoke yesterday at a regimental dinner night hosted by the headquarters of 6 Division at Python Officers’ Mess, Port Harcourt Barracks.

Aiyenigba, who was the special guest of honour at the occasion, affirmed that the successes recorded led to significant increase in the nation’s oil production from 1.4 million barrels per day to almost two million barrels per day.

This, he added, had significantly boosted the Nigerian economy through increased in oil revenue.

He assured the division of the continuous support of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, in providing the necessary support to sustain the achievements recorded so far.

He emphasised that the dinner night was one of the important aspects of military regimentation, adding that he was glad to have witnessed such an auspicious event in an elite military formation like the 6 Division.

The army chief  commended the patron of Python Officers’ Mess, Major General Jamal Abdussalam, who is the General Officer Commanding, 6 Division for the leadership he has provided in the division.
