Arsenal ‘Surprised’ By Osimhen Deal As Galatasaray Reveal Financial Details

Galatasaray vice-president Abdullah Kavukcu has revealed that Arsenal were taken aback by the scale of the club’s financial commitment to Victor Osimhen.

Osimhen, who joined permanently from Napoli after a successful loan spell, was one of the most sought-after forwards in world football, attracting interest from Premier League and Saudi Arabian clubs before completing his move to Turkey.

The Nigerian striker’s transfer was finalised after Galatasaray activated his €75 million release clause, bringing an end to his five-year spell in Italy.
Kavukcu disclosed that Arsenal’s sporting director, Andrea Berta, expressed surprise at the figures involved during a recent visit.

“The Arsenal sporting director came here and was surprised that we were committing such amounts,” Kavukcu told HT Spor.

Under the terms of his four-year contract, Osimhen is set to earn a guaranteed annual salary of €15 million, a €1 million loyalty bonus per season, and an additional €5 million annually from image rights. The total financial package is estimated at approximately €159 million over the duration of the deal.

Despite the substantial investment, Kavukcu insisted the club has no intention of selling the striker, even in the face of a potential €150 million offer.
“I wouldn’t sell him for €150 million, but ultimately that decision rests with our president,” he said. “If you sell him, you must also find a suitable replacement, and that is crucial.”

He further highlighted Osimhen’s commercial value, revealing that the forward is expected to generate around €22 million in revenue for the club, including multiple advertising deals worth €6 million.

“The Osimhen transfer has added immense value to the club. We are already seeing the rewards of our ambition,” Kavukcu added.
