Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Bauchi State chapter, Rev Dr Abraham Damina Dimeus, has asked Christians to remain security conscious as they celebrate this year’s Christmas and festive season, stressing the need for vigilance amid emerging security concerns.
At the 2025 CAN Christmas Carol of Nine Lessons at First Baptist Church, Yandoka Road, Bauchi, Dimeus reminded worshippers that Christmas should be celebrated joyfully but responsibly, with deliberate efforts to safeguard communities and report suspicious activities promptly to security agencies.
He emphasised that maintaining peace and order requires collective action, noting that Christians must remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies to ensure the safety of lives and property during the festive period.
Dimeus, in his message titled “Peace on Earth, Goodwill to All,” also encouraged the faithful to embrace peaceful coexistence, urging Christians to celebrate harmoniously with Muslims and people of goodwill across Bauchi State.
Representing Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed at the event, the Senior Special Assistant on Christian Religious Affairs, Pastor Zakka Luka Magaji, conveyed the governor’s appreciation to the Christian community for their prayers, cooperation, and unwavering support.
He assured the gathering of his continued commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy to all residents without discrimination, calling for sustained cooperation and support from the Christian community as his administration approaches its final phase.
He appealed to Christians to intensify prayers for a God-fearing leader who will sustain the atmosphere of peace, progress, and inclusivity currently enjoyed, stressing that continuity is essential to preserving the state’s stable and crisis-free environment.
The Christmas Carol featured soul-lifting hymns and presentations from various choral groups drawn from different churches across Bauchi State, creating an atmosphere of celebration as the Christian community prepared for the 2025 Christmas season.
