Legendary broadcaster, Dr. Danladi Bako; owner of Remo Stars, Hon. Kunle Soname; chairman of Air Peace, Allen Onyema, former governor of Plateau State, Senator Simon Lalong and father of supporters club in Nigeria, Rafiu Ladipo top the list of dignitaries for the 50th Anniversary Celebration and 9th Convocation Ceremony of the National Institute for Sports (NIS) holding today in Lagos.

The institute recently announced that they will be conferring the six eminents Nigerians with the Fellowship of the Institute while there will be induction of some of the institution’s ex-student into the Hall of Fame.

Speaking recently, the Director General of NIS, Prof. Olawale Moronkola, said they are doing so in recognition of their immense support for the institute while also announcing the naming of the Institute Conference Hall after the pioneer principal of the Institute, Late Sir, Dr. Awoture Eleyae.

The Director General further stated that in line with the practice in tertiary institutions, the NIS has introduced inaugural lecture series, established new departments, built new Human and capital development capacities and introduced conferment of Fellowship on deserving Nigerians, noting that with more funding from government and support from philanthropic Nigerians, the Institute will break new grounds.
