BASIEC Trains Ad-hoc Staff

Bauchi State Independent Electoral Commission (BASIEC) yesterday trained returning, electoral and administrative officers ahead of the forthcoming local government election.

LEADERSHIP Weekend gathered that BASIEC scheduled the election August 17 across the 20 local government areas of the state.

Speaking at the training, the executive chairman of the commission, Ahmed Makama, said the workshop was necessary to equip participants with the needed skills and knowledge to enable them carry out their responsibilities effectively.

He reiterated the readiness of the commission to work with all relevant stakeholders to achieve the desired objectives and tasked the trained officers to make good use of the knowledge acquired for the smooth and effective conduct of the poll.
