A joint delegation from Bauchi and Gombe states has voiced serious concerns over the slow progress of the Kolmani Integrated Development Project, a major oil exploration initiative located along the boundary of the two states.

The delegation, led by Bauchi State Commissioner for Natural Resources Development, Muhammad Maiwada Bello, and his Gombe counterpart,  Sunusi Ahmad Pindiga, conducted an inspection visit to the Kolmani Well site.

They expressed dissatisfaction with the pace of work and called on the company handling the project to provide a detailed update, including a timeline for completion.

Bello described the project as critical to the economic transformation of both states, stressing that the current delay undermines public expectations. “We cannot overstate the importance of this project to our people. We will engage the company closely to ensure that the concerns raised are urgently addressed,” he said.

Echoing the sentiment, Pindiga emphasised the need for transparency and a comprehensive status report. “This is a legacy project for our region. We must ensure it is not derailed by lack of communication or accountability,” he noted.
