Bauchi State governor, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has asked well-to-do Nigerians to cater for the welfare of orphans, the poor and other vulnerable members of the society.

The governor said this in his Eid-el-Fitr goodwill message to the people of Bauchi State.

“We should emulate Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) by making sacrifices for the benefit of the less privileged ones in our society. We should also pray to Almighty Allah for peace, unity and prosperity of our dear state and the country as a whole.

“Our government is irrevocably committed to the continued peaceful coexistence among the heterogeneous ethnic and religious groups in the state. I appeal for your continued understanding, cooperation and support towards the realisation of this noble objective.

“I want to commend you for your perseverance and resilience in the face of the current economic hardship, a national problem.  As you all know, the state government in collaboration with the federal government is taking measures to ameliorate the situation by providing palliative items in the form of foodstuffs,” he said.
