Bauchi State governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, has relieved Hajiya Zainab Baban Takko of her appointment as Commissioner for Women Affairs and Child Development.

The directive is with immediate effect.

The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Sunday by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Governor, Mukhtar Gidado, who described the decision as a minor adjustment to the composition of the State Executive Council.

Although no reason was given for Hajiya Takko’s removal, the Governor however, appreciated her contributions to the state and wished her success in her future endeavours.

LEADERSHIP recalls that Takko was sworn-in as Commissioner on September 9, 2024, alongside two other newly appointed commissioners.

Prior to her appointment as commissioner, she had served as Caretaker chairperson of Bauchi local government area following her appointment by Governor Mohammed in July 2023.
