Bauchi Rep Flags Off N1bn Empowerment Scheme

The member representing Alkaleri/Kirfi federal constituency, Alhaji Kabiru Yusuf (AKY Makaman Duguri), has flagged off a N1 billion mega empowerment programme aimed at boosting the economic wellbeing of his constituents.

Speaking to a large crowd of supporters in Bauchi, the lawmaker said the items distributed include 20 vehicles, 150 motorcycles, 100 sewing machines, 200 water-pumping machines, 100 wheelchairs for persons with disabilities, and N200 million in cash support.

Alhaji Kabiru Yusuf explained that the beneficiaries cut across party officials from ward to local government levels, APC stakeholders in Alkaleri and Kirfi, youth and women groups, the elderly, persons with special needs, as well as other supporters who have contributed to his political journey.

He urged the beneficiaries to make proper use of the items for the economic development of Alkaleri, Kirfi, Bauchi State, and the country at large.

The lawmaker also appealed to constituents who did not make the current list to remain patient, assuring them that more empowerment programmes are underway.

The APC chairman in Bauchi State, Alhaji Muhammad Hassan Tilde, commended the developmental strides of the lawmaker, noting that this is the sixth empowerment programme he is attending in two years of AKY Makama’s stewardship.

Similarly, the chairmen of APC Stakeholders in Alkaleri, Alhaji Adamu Umar Gokaru, and in Kirfi, Barrister Yakubu Yakubu Kirfi, praised the lawmaker’s performance, stating that no representative in the history of the constituency has achieved more.

Some beneficiaries, among them Alhaji Iliya Natsira, Hajiya Lami, and Dan Malikin Bara, expressed gratitude to AKY Makama for the gesture and pledged continued support as well as mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 elections.
