Bauchi State Ministry of Mineral Resources Development, has appealed to traditional rulers to support its efforts to formalise mining activities.

Its commissioner, Muhammad Bello, who sought the monarch’s assistance, described their backing as crucial to ending illegal operations and ensuring compliance with global standards.

At the opening of a sensitisation training for enumerators on data acquisition and formalisation of miners, the ministry organised in collaboration with Bladira Global Consulting Firm Ltd., Bello said the initiative aims to equip the participants with the skills and knowledge to gather accurate data and promote legal mining practices in the state.

“We want to empower these enumerators with the right tools to fight illegal mining and promote legal operations that create jobs for our youth and boost the state’s revenue,” the commissioner said, while commending Governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad for his unwavering support to the ministry.
