Bayern Munich Eye Osimhen As Potential Kane’s Successor

Bayern Munich are reportedly intensifying their pursuit of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, signaling a potential long-term plan beyond current star Harry Kane. With Kane, 32, entering the latter stages of his career and contract discussions ongoing, manager Vincent Kompany is reportedly keen on securing Osimhen, currently excelling at Galatasaray, as the future of Bayern’s attack.

According to FootMercato, Bayern is considering a significant move for Osimhen, with Kompany having reportedly monitored the striker since his early career. Despite Kane’s impressive 45 goals in 37 appearances this season, Bayern is looking ahead, especially with Kane’s contract expiring in 2027. They see Osimhen as an ideal long-term replacement.

Acquiring Osimhen will be challenging. Galatasaray, who signed him permanently for €75 million last summer, has him under contract until June 2029 and is unwilling to sell. However, the appeal of Bayern and the Bundesliga could influence negotiations, even if Galatasaray demands a substantial fee.

Meanwhile, other potential suitors have reportedly withdrawn. Paris Saint-Germain is reportedly no longer interested, deterred by a projected €150 million valuation and Osimhen’s €20 million annual salary demands, as well as manager Luis Enrique’s tactical preferences. Osimhen has also reportedly prioritized staying in Europe despite interest from the Saudi Pro League.
