The Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Petroleum Resources (Downstream), Hon. Ikenga Ugochinyere Ikeagwuonu, has said that the all-inclusive leadership capacity of House Committee chairman on Appropriation, Hon. Abubakar Bichi, will make the passage of 2024 Appropriation Bill seamless.

LEADERSHIP reports that President Bola Tinubu had on Wednesday presented the N27.5 trillion 2024 budget proposal to a joint session of the 10th National Assembly in Abuja — his first since assuming office six months ago.⁣

Ugochinyere, who represents Ideato North/South Federal Constituency of Imo State, said the lawmakers were confident on Bichi’s capacity to do well on his new legislative role.

According to him, Bichi will sustain the tempo set by the 9th House of Representatives on ending delay in annual budget passage.

Ikenga added that in line with Mr President’s assurance that the 2024 budgetary allocations and directives would set Nigeria on a transformative path towards sustainable development, Hon. Bichi with his wealth of experience will bring Nigeria’s appropriation process to be at par with developed countries.
