General Overseer of CCCI, Bishop Dr Gospel Emmah Isong, disclosed this in a telephone conversation with our Correspondent on Saturday morning in Calabar.

Isong stated that the mega event will have men and women of different faiths make themselves available at the ceremony with many already indicated interest to participate virtually by zoom.

He stressed that the ceremony, which is organised by Interreligious Association for Peace and Development (IAPD) and Universal Peace Federation (UPF), shall provide a platform for believers of different faiths and traditions to pray to God for the good of the nation and mankind notwithstanding their perceived differences.

Speaking on the theme, “Abasiakara”, meaning God rules, the cleric averred that during the ceremony, spiritual and religious leaders shall share inspiration, pray together fervently on to God for promotion of peace and development in Africa.

Isong, who doubles as the National Publicity Secretary of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), said: “Spirituality is Africa’s greatest asset, with this, IAPD seeks to foster a shiny and bright continent based on the principles of interdependence, mutual prosperity, and universally shared values, in line with the pronouncement by IAPD founder, Dr. Hark Ja Han Moon.”

Giving an insight of what the event is all about, Bishop Isong stressed that apart from the event serving as platform for prayers that would meet up with spiritual need of the clerics of different faiths, the gathering shall also serve as a foundation for peace and sustainable development in Africa.

“The April 16 event will feature Imboni, Dr. Uzwi-Lezwe Radebe, IAPD-Africa Chairman and founder of The Revelation Spiritual Home; El Hadj Habib Kane, Director of Religious Affairs, Mali.

“Father Louison Emerick Bissila Mbila, Chaplain at AU from Ethiopia; Venerable Dr Ilukpitiye Panasekara, Chief Monk Buddhist, Tanzania and Bishop Dr. Emmah Gospel Isong, Presiding Bishop of CCCI, Nigeria, and many more from other faiths and traditions,” Isong stated.
