Barau FC head coach Ladan Bosso has defended the team’s slow start to the 2025-26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
The Maliya Boys have recorded two wins, two draws, and five defeats in their inaugural season in the NPFL and currently occupy 18th position on the table with eight points.
Bosso is confident that the team will improve in upcoming matches. “We are working with players who are just coming up; we retained almost all the players that secured promotion for Barau FC, and they will need time to adapt to the rigours of the NPFL,” Bosso told Barau FC’s media.
“Like my experience with Bayelsa United, we also had a slow start there, but once we got it right, we moved further up the table. The quality of players here is better than those at Bayelsa United.”
Barau FC will face Wikki Tourists in a matchday 11 fixture this weekend.
