At the commissioning of the block of classrooms and staff offices in the school yesterday, director-general of BPE, Mr Alex Okoh said the projects are a part of BPE’s commitment to contribute positively to society and uplift the lives of those in its community.

The rehabilitation work was done on a dilapidated block made up of eight classrooms, eight toilets, and a store room.

As part of its efforts to give the school a facelift, BPE also carried out project work on the school gate, while the existing toilets within the school premises were also renovated.

Represented at the event by the director, agric and natural resources at BPE, Ignatius Ayewoh, the DG said over the years, the bureau has implemented various CSR projects, especially in the health and educational sectors within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, and its surrounding areas, noting that “This is what we are used to doing very well.”

The school principal, Lynda Okwuonu expressed joy over the project and said she will provide a better teaching and learning environment for both the students and teachers. “We are very happy. We now have a finely renovated block with classrooms and a staffroom for our use. I thank you BPE,” she said.

The director of teachers’ development unit at Universal Basic Education Board, Mrs Jacklyn Anosike said education for all is the responsibility of everyone. “BPE has demonstrated that. This is a model for everybody to see. I urge other organisations to do likewise by replicating this beautiful gesture in our schools,” she stated.
