President Bola Tinubu has signed into law the Electoral Act, 2022 (Repeal and Re-Enactment) Bill 2026, marking a significant milestone in Nigeria’s electoral reform process.

The signing followed the passage of the legislation by the National Assembly on Tuesday after months of debate, review and amendments by both chambers with controversy raging over electronic transfer of election results in real-time.
