Véron Omba, the current Secretary General of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), is anticipated in Kinshasa this Tuesday to formally submit his candidacy for the presidency of the Congolese Football Federation (FECOFA).

BSNSports.com.ng reports that Omba’s expected declaration is already generating considerable interest within Congolese football, with observers suggesting his entry could significantly alter the contest for the federation’s top position.

A highly experienced football administrator, Omba has held various roles within African football, culminating in his influential post as CAF Secretary General. His potential bid for the FECOFA presidency is viewed as a major development, given his extensive continental experience and administrative credentials.

If confirmed, his candidacy is expected to intensify competition among those vying to lead Congolese football into a new era, as stakeholders look towards reforms, stability, and improved performances for both clubs and the national team.
