The chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Borno State  chapter, Most Reverend John Bogna Bakeni, has felicitated with Muslims in the state on the occasion of the Eid-el-fitr.

The CAN chairman who is the Auxiliary Bishop of Maiduguri Catholic Dioceses, in his message made available to journalists yesterday in Maiduguri, rejoiced with the Ummah and prayed that  Allah accept their acts and supplications.

He said, “On behalf of the entire Christian community in Borno State, the Christian Association of Nigeria, Borno State chapter, felicitates with the Muslim Ummah in Borno State and beyond as they celebrate the Eid-el- fitri festival which marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

“We rejoice with them and  pray that the blessings of God will be upon them now and always. May Allah accept their  prayers and supplications.

“Ramadan  is a time of self-reflection and  a renewed commitment  to living a life of piety and peace. It teaches us the importance of sacrifice, compassion, and generosity towards others, especially the less privileged in the society.

“As we mark this important occasion, we must take the opportunity to reflect on the spiritual lessons of Ramadan  and values it embodies which are love and mutual understanding for  a peaceful society, “ he said.
