Casio Computer Co. Ltd has announced that three of its scientific calculator models have been certified by the Nigerian Conformity Assessment Program (SONCAP), administered by the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON).
The milestone marks the first time Casio achieved SONCAP certification for its products in Nigeria. The certified models include: FX-9910NGPLUS-2WDT, FX-991ESPLUS-2WDTV, and FX-82MS-2-W-DH-F.
SONCAP is Nigeria’s import control system implemented on September 1, 2005, designed to ensure that only genuine and high-quality foreign products enter the Nigerian market. This programme is crucial in safeguarding consumers from counterfeit goods while promoting safety and quality standards.
Casio’s initiative to obtain SONCAP certification underscores its commitment to supporting mathematics education in Nigeria. Recognising the pivotal role scientific calculators play in the learning process, Casio has tailored its certified models to meet the specific needs of Nigerian students and educators.
Among the certified models, the FX-9910NGPLUS stands out for its affordability, durability, and user-friendly interface, coupled with exceptional mathematical performance. It has already received endorsement from the Lagos State Curriculum Service, with a recommendation sticker placed on the product packaging.
