CDCFIB Begins Recruitment Into Immigration, Civil Defence, Fire, Correctional Services

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has announced the commencement of a nationwide recruitment exercise into four prominent paramilitary agencies under its purview.

According to an official statement published on the board’s website, suitably qualified Nigerians were invited to apply for vacant positions in the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Federal Fire Service (FFS), and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

“The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDFIPB) and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCOS), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Federal Fire Service (FFS), and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) are currently inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for enlistment into the services,” the notice read.

The recruitment spans three major categories, Superintendent Cadre, Inspectorate Cadre, and Assistant Cadre, with multiple roles open under each category.

Under the Superintendent Cadre (General Duty), the positions are Superintendent of Corrections (CONPASS 09): Available only in the NCoS, this position is for candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery, Assistant Superintendent I (CONPASS 09): Open exclusively in the FFS for candidates with degrees in Engineering or Law and Assistant Superintendent II (CONPASS 08): Available across all four agencies for Bachelor’s or HND holders in any discipline.

Positions under the Inspectorate Cadre include Senior Inspector of Fire (CONPASS 08): Open to registered Nurses, Midwives, or Nurse-Midwives. This role is available in the NSCDC, FFS, and NCoS and Inspector of Fire (CONPASS 07): For candidates with NCE or National Diplomas in relevant fields.

For Assistant Cadre, positions include, Assistant III (CONPASS 03): Targets SSCE holders with a minimum of five O’Level credits, including English and Mathematics.. Drivers, Artisans, and Mechanics: Must possess Trade Test certificates and valid licenses.

To qualify, applicants must be Nigerian by birth, be between the ages of 18 and 35 and have a minimum height of 1.65m for males and 1.60m for females.

Other requirements are that applicants must Possess a chest measurement of not less than 0.87m (for male candidates), be free from criminal convictions and financial embarrassment and have a certificate of medical fitness from a government-recognised hospital.

The CDCFIB warned that, “multiple applications will lead to automatic disqualification.” It also emphasised that the entire recruitment process is completely free of charge.

Interested candidates are to apply via the official portal: https://cdcfib.career.

The application window opens on Thursday, June 26, 2025, and will remain active for three (3) weeks from the date of publication.

All shortlisted applicants will be invited for a Computer-Based Test (CBT), followed by a physical screening and interview.

The board reiterated its commitment to transparency and fairness in the recruitment process, stating that “all applications will be treated on merit.”
