Another round of cholera outbreak has claimed 13 lives in six local government areas of Niger State.
LEADERSHIP findings revealed that the disease outbreak that led to 236 hospitalisations affected Chanchaga, Bosso, Shiroro, Magama, Bida and Munya councils.

Last week, the state ministries of Secondary and Primary Healthcare embarked on a multi-sectoral response to cholera in the state, where it was disclosed that 26 lives were lost in the outbreak from January to date.

LEADERSHIP gathered yesterday that over 239 people have been diagnosed with the disease, and 13 deaths recorded recorded

The commissioner for Primary Healthcare, Dr. Ibrahim Ahmed Dangana, confirmed the incident, but stated that the state government had acted by setting up a multi-sectoral approach to halting the epidemic in the six local government areas.

He said treatment and isolation centres have been set up in each of the affected local government areas to control the spread.
