The Diocese of Umuahia, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) has tasked Abia State governor-elect, Alex Otti, to be focused to deliver his campaign promises and be resolute in his transformation agenda for the state.

The Rt. Revd Geoffrey Ibeabuchi stated this yesterday in his presidential address at the 3rd session of the 10th Synod of the diocese at St Silas Church, Old Umuahia, near the state capital, Umuahia.

Congratulating Otti on the March 18 election victory, the clergyman requested him to be magnanimous in victory and commended his steadfastness in the pursuit of the dream until it materialised.

“As you get ready for swearing in on the 29th of May, 2023, we want you to know that expectations on you and your administration are beyond comprehension. Avoid sycophants,” he said.

The bishop of the diocese appealed to the governor-elect to appoint tested and trusted individuals, ensure pensioners and civil servants are paid, and world class infrastructure development.
